On Friday, September 12, you need to get ready to see a whole different side of a Boston Swing at the New "Cavern Club" (Boston's Hard Rock Cafe)
August dates coming next week for Foxwoods.
BOSTON & FOXWOODS (and more)
Many wedding and Corporate clients have enjoyed the incredible performances of our 3 Horn Function Band but this is the first time Mark is taking the band out in public.
- DON'T MISS IT -
What better way to catch the band then at one of the coolest venues on the planet?!
3 Vocalists, 3 Horns and full rhythm section casually lay down exceptional renditions of your favorite radio classics (and some originals). But there is nothing casual about the sound of this band - You definitely won't forget it.
Come see why this band serves the nation.
No Choreography... No Set List... No Rules...
Raw & Real. The way Boston Swing serves it up.
Funk, Soul, Motown, Rock, R&B, Disco (and of course...a little jazz).
He seriously needs YOUR HELP!!! (and not because I've got him in a choke hold or because I'm messing up his "Crooner Do"). Incidentally, If I can be vain for a minute - what's with my hairline receding - WHO THE HELL TOOK THIS PICTURE?!
He's recording his Debut Vocal CD with custom arrangements and a 2 Horn Session Band. WOAH DADDY!
BLAMMO! The McNett Masterpiece is in pre-production.
It isn't cheap to do what Boston Swing is doing - but we are committed to helping Brad achieve success with his career...
He is a totally cool guy with an authentic old-school talent.
You're going to be hearing a lot from him in the future.
Please show some support - visit this link and learn how you can help.
It is the third highest traffic page on the corporate site (and that is saying a lot)...but those who visit aren't hitting the little "help Brad" button...
Come on now - I see you!
Skip a Latte' for my brother!
Help a deserving guy with a noble dream... He's the next generation of ambassador for this genre!
THANKS!!!
Mark

The first Sunday "Boston Swing" appearance at Cheers in Faneuil Hall, Boston was a hit. Thanks to everyone who dropped in. For those of you that were confused, yes, Mark is a "jazz crooner". The band would like to apologize for Mark's brief episode of singing hits made famous by "Journey" (he swears that Adam [bartender] spiked his drink, but we know better).
Thank you to WPLM99.1FM (Ron Della Chiesa, "Strictly Sinatra") and Samuel Adams (The Boston Beer Company) for helping to launch our Sunday shows with such class and enthusiasm.
Special thanks to Ron Catanese (Owner of the Rat Pack Cafe in Framingham where the band used to spend it's Sundays) for coming out and showing your support. You truly are a class act!
Join Mark & his Boston Swing Trio every Sunday (except March 16th when Faneuil Hall is alive with "St. Patrick's Day" splendor) Note: Mark and Boston Swing won't be there because he and the guys don't own green tuxedos but you should check out the festivities anyway.
The band is joined regularly by other world-class guest entertainers & musicians. We'd make a list, but you wouldn't believe us...so come by and see why:
Faneuil Hall attracts 8Million people each year Cheers is the world's most famous bar Samuel Adams is America's world-class beer. Mark Mahar and Boston Swing are world-class entertainment
OLD SCHOOL COOL - CLASS IN SESSION
Thanks to the Sultans of Swing -
Mon, March 1, 2008
PERSONAL NOTE FROM MARK MAHAR:
I would like to personally thank all of the contract players who make up the many faces of "The Sultans of Swing" (Jerry Bennett Entertainment) for helping to make my several years as a contracted vocalist & bandleader an enjoyable experience.
Thank you to Jerry Bennett Entertainment for giving me the opportunity to share my talents with countless clients on Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket.
I am moving on musically, and through other ventures and opportunities, but my memories of sharing the stage with so many elite independent musicians (all of whom rallied without rehearsal despite some of us being strangers) will stay with me for a lifetime. Many of us met just before the gig started and we quickly became great friends by the end of the night. I was frequently reminded of the true power of music to unite (talented musicians, an appreciative audience and great people in general).
My very best wishes and heartfelt thanks go out to all of you for unforgettable laughs, music and showmanship.
Truly,
Mark

Boston Swing - "Swing For Your Supper"
Wed, July 11, 2007
VENUE: Dining/Country Clubs (MA, RI, NH, VT)
The new production show is looking for booking stops this fall. We are now taking bookings for Thursday, Friday & Saturday ticketed (or private) dinner & concert performances with 5-10 pieces.
This professional production show is perfect for "Old School" Rat Pack Era and Swing Dance audiences (Theme Dinner Events, Corporate Parties, Anniversaries or just a great evening of food and entertainment with strangers).
Lighting, Sound, Entertainment and Marketing included.
Venues with 220person occupancy preferred (smaller venues require smaller ensemble or private booking contract). Larger venues qualify for 4-wall productions (and sales guarantees).
Rumor has it there's a new club opening in Boston this month.
It's called "Beehive".
If you like cocktails, great food and eclectic music (in hip surroundings), you might want to check out www.beehiveboston.com and let us know what you think.
If you'd Mark Mahar & Boston Swing to add Beehive to our night club performances (along with Rat Pack Cafe in Framingham [monthly] and Lucky's Lounge in Boston), drop us [or them] a note!
All of us at Boston Swing would like to welcome Beehive to the Boston scene and congratulate their management for having the stones to finally put a 300seat dinner/show venue in Boston!
It's about time somebody stepped up in defense of high occupancy high-class dining with a line of site to the band (regardless of who the band is).

Careless Moon Update - 60 Days and Counting
Fri, April 27, 2007
The much awaited CD project has been 2 years in the making.
The home stretch has arrived. We'll issue a pre-sale link very soon.
"I've never put as much personal time, energy, money and passion into a project as I have for this CD. Deciding what 'not to put on the album' has been the hardest part. The web previews are a nice taste but the CD is so incredible...I can't believe it is my band, my songs and my voice. Rob Pemberton is a phenomenal engineer- he captured every nuance of our recording session (but we had countless tracks to sift through). I can't say enough about the musicianship- every song is a single take with no studio tricks. I seriously don't know of any modern band that releases straight takes...and everything you'll hear is exactly what went on while tape was rolling- we're exceptionally proud of the result. It has taken us nearly 2 years because I had to choose 10 takes from a ton of audio and video (all of it live) AND without spoiling what is coming on the DVD. It was worth it. You're gonna love it!" - Mark Mahar
